NKURENKURU – A 74-year-old man died instantly after he was stabbed with a spear at the Bravo Settlement in Kavango West region on Wednesday.

Chief inspector Raimbert Muronga said the incident occurred at around 18h00 and the deceased has been identified as Kuip Daniel.

He was stabbed in the rib cage and on the neck. It is alleged that the victim and suspect lived in the same homestead.

A 38-year-old male suspect has been arrested and is being detained at the Tsintabis police station.

The deceased’s next of kin have been informed of his death while police investigations continue.

In a separate incident in the same region, 21-year-old August Ndimna allegedly committed suicide by hanging at Kakuro village at around 07h00 yesterday.

Muronga said his next of kin have been informed of the death.

The body was taken to the Nkurenkuru police mortuary to await an autopsy. -Nampa
