The Rundu Courts are expected to come alive this weekend as the MTC Volleyball League takes centre stage on Saturday at Rundu Trade Fair. More than eight exciting fixtures are lined up in both the men’s and women’s divisions, promising a thrilling day of top-tier volleyball action.

In the men’s division, the day will kick off with a clash between Namibia Defence Force Raptors (NDF-R) and Calvary Eagles Sports Club (CESC), followed by a battle between Mighty Gunners Volleyball Club (MGVC) and NamPol Volleyball Club.

Unam Hard Hitters will then take on Afrocat Sports Club, while Keetmanshoop Correctional Facility Volleyball Club (KCFVC) will face MGVC in what is expected to be a tightly contested encounter.  Wrapping up the men’s fixtures for the weekend, Namibia Correctional Service Volleyball Club will lock horns with CESC.

Speaking to this publication, Namibia Volleyball Federation (NVF) president Tobias Eden Mwatelulo encouraged Rundu residents to come out in numbers to support the event.

“This weekend, action is in Rundu. We are excited to be here. We’re calling on all volleyball fans and sport enthusiasts in the town and surrounding areas to support their favourite teams,” he said.

“There will be top players on display who will give their best. We urge the community to come out and help promote the culture of sport,” he added.

In the women’s division, Saturday’s action will begin with Nampol Otjozondjupa Volleyball Club taking on NamPol Volleyball Club.

This will be followed by Unam Queens facing Ball Buster Volleyball Club.

The third match will see Namibia Defence Force Phoenix up against Nampol Otjozondjupa before NamPol return to the court to face a strong Unam Queens side.

The day’s fixtures in the women’s division will wrap up with Six Stars Volleyball Club in action.
