Khomas Super 10 log leaders Golden Girls will be hoping to maintain their lead at the top of the Khomas Netball League over the weekend when they play against Tigers.
Jacky Ortner, the head coach, said the team had intense training and was determined to collect points as they try to maintain their run in the premier division of the Khomas league. “We had good training; all players are mentally and physically fit for the weekend. I think missing a weekend of action also gave us time to reflect on our style and work on our shortcomings,” she said.
Golden Girls head into the weekend fixtures against Tigers and Namibia Correctional Service (NSC) on Saturday at Patrick Iyambo Police Court with a lead of 37 points. They have yet to lose a single match up in the league this season.
According to the coach, winning this weekend’s match will position them well in their quest to qualify for the topflight netball league, which is the MTC Netball Premier League. “I think it has been a great season for us, we haven’t lost any game yet, and we hope to continue winning games, especially our weekend games, which are crucial that we win them,” she said.
