Futsal league continues this weekend

The Futsal league will continue this weekend with exciting games lined up for Saturday at Windhoek Showgrounds in the capital city.

A total of seven matches will be played tomorrow, with games scheduled to start at 14h00. Opening the day would be a tie between Ragazzi FC taking on INEOS at 14h00.

Currently, Ragazzi is placed at position eight on the standings with 28 points, while INEOS find themselves placed 10th in the current league season at 20 points.

Zak Ragazzi, who coaches and play for Ragazzi FC said his team is ready and they aim to collect maximum points. “I think it’s a match we need to win and collect points. I think we have been doing well in the league so far. By looking at our recent records, it tells how much we have improved from where we were earlier this season. He added, “The players are in high spirits, and we want to maintain the great performance from the boys. We want to remain in the league and ensure that we drift far from the relegation zone.”

In other fixtures on Saturday, at 15h00, third placed Windhoek Futsal will square off against 7 Kings, who are at the bottom and placed at 14 on the standings with a total of 13 points. Windhoek Futsal will be hoping to maintain a great run to ensure the gap isn’t wide at the top.

Meanwhile, JAC, who are at 13 with 13 points, will be hoping to change their fortunes in the league when they face off against Flying V, who are yet to register a win. Chiipa Shikomba, the chairman at Flying V, said that although they have had a bad season, he feels they can still end the league on a high note.

“Every game is important, and this is the same for the remaining matches we have left. We had lost so many players due to injuries, hence, our performance has been bad. Although we have faced challenges in the current season, I am upbeat that we could still collect points in the coming matchups,” said the chairman.

At 17h00, WIAS will take on Ballers while, X-Men will square off against Patriots. Chile FC, on the other hand, will take on Demia at 19h00, while wrapping up the day would be a match between Boston, Madrid and The Mavericks.
