ONGWEDIVA- The Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair kicked off on Friday.
The popular business event brings people together from all over the country and abroad to do business, celebrate culture and enjoy entertainment.
From the moment it started, the fairgrounds were filled with visitors. The smell of kapana and other local foods filled the air, drawing in hungry crowds to the food stalls.
Vendors are selling everything from roasted meat and fat cakes to drinks and a variety of traditional meals, creating a festive atmosphere. Families explored the fairgrounds, while kids enjoyed balloons, snacks and rides.
The business stalls are just as busy.
With over 480 exhibitors participating this year, including small Namibian businesses, government offices, large companies and young innovators, there is something for everyone.
International exhibitors from Ghana, Japan, Germany, Indonesia, and other SADC countries also showcased their products, giving the event a global touch. The variety of items on display was impressive, ranging from handmade crafts and clothes to new technology and farming products. Music and live entertainment keep the energy high throughout the day.
Local artists performed, and cultural groups entertained the crowd with traditional dances. The evenings were set aside for more entertainment, making the fair a place not just for business, but also for fun and relaxation.
The Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair is known for being a great place to network, exchange cultures, and socialise.
This year’s opening by President Netumbo Nandi- Ndaitwah added to the excitement and pride of the occasion. Based on the energy and turnout, the fair promises to be another unforgettable week for exhibitors, visitors and the entire Ongwediva community.
The business event will conclude on 30 August.
