Rossouw joins NRU

The Namibia Rugby Union (NRU) announced yesterday the appointment of former Springbok and renowned coach Pieter Rossouw, as the attacking consultant for the national team’s upcoming World Cup final qualifier tournament.

The tournament scheduled to take place in Dubai from 8 to 18 November.

Rossouw, widely respected for his attacking vision and tactical expertise, brings extensive experience at the highest level of the game, having represented South Africa as a player and contributed significantly as a coach with top professional teams.

According to a statement released by the union yesterday, his appointment is part of the NRU’s strategic plans to ensure the national team is fully prepared to compete at the highest level as they aim for qualification for the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia.

“Rossouw will join the technical team immediately, working alongside the Director of Rugby and coaching staff to sharpen Namibia’s attacking structures and execution ahead of the tournament. The Namibia Rugby Union extends its gratitude to all stakeholders and partners for their continued support as the team builds towards this crucial stage in its World Cup campaign,” read the statement.

Rossouw (53) previously worked with former head coach Phil Davies in the build-up and during England’s 2015 Rugby World Cup.
