In a significant development for southern Namibia’s automotive market, M&Z Motors Group will open a brand-new showroom in Mariental tomorrow. The opening event, scheduled to start at 14h00, will include off the grid test drives accompanied by a mouthwatering braai and good company.
The new facility, dubbed Southern Motor Mecca, will offer a diverse lineup of M&Z’s popular brands, including JAC, Mahindra, and LDV, bringing convenience and choice to residents of the Hardap region and beyond.
M&Z’s move into southern Namibia signals not just geographic expansion, but a commitment to inclusive growth, ensuring high-quality automotive options are accessible to all Namibians, no matter where they live. As the Mariental showroom becomes fully operational, it will likely become a regional focal point for automotive sales and service. M&Z Motors has a long-established presence in Namibia, with key showrooms and service centres in Windhoek, Swakopmund and Ondangwa. The Mariental location marks a strategic expansion to the south, positioning the group to better serve rural and regional customers who previously had to travel considerable distances for quality automotive services.
Mariental, the administrative capital of the Hardap region, lies along the B1 highway, making it an ideal hub for motorists travelling between central Namibia and the southern regions. The town’s growing economic activity, bolstered by agriculture and mining, makes it a fitting location for M&Z’s latest venture, a move that promises to enhance local convenience, stimulate economic activity, and create employment opportunities.
The new showroom will feature three key brands; JAC Motors, known for affordability and efficiency, will feature its popular models such as the T8 and T9 variants that have gained popularity for their value, performance, and strong warranties.
Mahindra, a brand celebrated for its rugged SUVs and pickups, offers models like the XUV3XO, XUV700, and the Scorpio-N, catering to both family and utility needs with competitive pricing.
Also available at the new showroom will be the growing LDV, whose recent launches featured at the Ondangwa showroom, such as the LDV T60 Max Luxe 4WD double-cab 8-speed ZF automatic, LDV brings robust commercial and leisure vehicles to the lineup. With these three competitive brand offerings, southern Namibian consumers will enjoy more variety and better value.
This combination of brands positions M&Z to meet diverse customer needs in southern Namibia, from practical, budget-friendly rides to capable off-roaders and reliable commercial workhorses.
While specific details on Mariental’s facility are yet to be released, M&Z’s other locations provide insight into what to expect. The Ondangwa showroom features fully equipped workshops, offices, and washing bays, all designed to support seamless customer service and vehicle care. Mariental is likely to follow suit, offering a full-service experience covering sales, maintenance, and customer support.
This latest expansion builds on M&Z’s recent momentum. In late 2024, the group opened a new showroom and workshop in Ondangwa to accommodate its growing array of brands and rising customer demand. Since acquiring additional brands, including KIA, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, and Renault via Associated Motor Holdings, M&Z has grown to represent more than 17 different automotive brands across Namibia.
In addition, the group is investing in future mobility infrastructure, such as expanding its network of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations nationwide, which is a clear indicator of its forward-looking vision in the changing automotive landscape.
With the opening of the new showroom local drivers in and around Mariental will now have access to modern vehicles and services without having to travel to Windhoek or other major towns. The showroom’s launch is anticipated to create employment, from sales and service technicians to administrative and support staff. In addition, localised maintenance and after-sale services help enhance vehicle longevity and customer satisfaction.
With its well-rounded brand roster, investment in facilities, and growing infrastructure M&Z appears poised to lead the next wave of motoring in Namibia.
