L3kker.com hosts first fashion show

Geveve Krohne recently hosted the first fashion show for her label L3kker.com in Chicago, USA.

Launched in 2022, L3kker.com is a clothing brand created to uplift communities and amplify often unheard voices. Krohne told VIBEZ the feeling is surreal.

“There is an overwhelming wave of relief and pride that hits all at once, thanks to the team working behind the scenes. After months of living and breathing this collection, sketching concepts at dawn, countless fittings, and the exhilarating chaos of rehearsals, to finally see it all come to life on the runway was profoundly emotional,” she said.

She emphasized the true success was watching the models confidently showcase the garments and seeing the audience respond in real time.

“That collective energy in the room was the reward for every late night, and obstacle overcome. Right now, I am just deeply grateful to my entire team and soaking in this incredible height before the next chapter begins. Behind the scenes was a beautiful, organized chaos,” said the designer.

Further stating, “It was a whirlwind of meticulous details, from the first sketch to the final fitting. But the true magic was the people. My incredible team became a family, and the unwavering support from my friends and family was my anchor. This show was not just my creation; it was woven from the talent and belief of everyone involved.”

The fashionista said the show was significant because it was more than just showcasing a collection; it was a declaration of intent.

“It was a platform to support local models, artisans, and sustainable practices. Importantly, it was also a chance to highlight our foundation, Viva’s Hope Village, and its important mission. In the end, it was about making a statement not just with clothing, but through community and purpose,” she said.

Viva, as she is affectionately known, is also planning to open Hope Village, a dream she has always held close to her heart to give back to the community that raised her.

“We are expanding our e-commerce platform to make our designs more accessible and exploring future collaborative projects that align with our mission of community and conscious fashion. Most importantly, every step we take will continue to support Viva’s Hope Village, embedding social purpose into the core of our growth. This show wasn’t an endpoint; it was the first step in a much larger journey,” she said.

Adding, “This show was just the beginning for L3kkers.com. It was the powerful launch of our brand’s philosophy into the world. We plan to build on this momentum by continuing to create limited-edition, sustainable collections that tell a story.”

Currently, they are focused on our direct-to-client model via L3kkers.com and are actively exploring partnerships with like-minded boutiques in both Namibia and the US.

“Our goal is to find retail partners who share our values of sustainability and community impact. We encourage everyone to follow our journey on social media and subscribe to our newsletter, as that is where we will announce any exciting retail collaborations first,” she noted.
