Former President Nangolo Mbumba is scheduled as one a number of influential dignitaries and thought leaders to feature at an upcoming business summit in the capital. The summit, hosted by the Leaders Without Borders Development Centre (LWBDC), will this year focus on boosting intra-Africa trade and increasing economic growth on the continent.
LWBDC is a global leadership, business, and socio-economic development organisation dedicated to fostering collaboration across nations and empowering visionary leaders. The centre was established to bridge gaps between governments, businesses, and civil society, and has grown into a trusted platform for international dialogue, innovation, and strategic partnerships.
Set to take place on 24 to 25 October 2025 at the Hilton Hotel in Windhoek, the 10th anniversary International Economic Development & Investment Business Summit and International Honours Awards is being hosted by the LWBDC.
Other speakers expected at the event include Gaudentia Krohne, Deputy Minister of Mines and Energy, Fahed Al Merhebi, chairman & president of Zurich Capital Funds, Olasupo Olusi, CEO of Bank of Industry (Nigeria), and Ekaterine Maisuradze, president of Georgia & Asia-Africa Chamber of Commerce.
LWBDC has over the past decade successfully hosted high-level gatherings in London, Dubai, and other global capitals, positioning itself as one of the leading platforms for driving international investment and leadership collaboration. The centre stated that bringing this milestone edition to Namibia is a unique opportunity to showcase the country’s business potential, investment opportunities, and hospitality to the world.
“Namibia has been strategically chosen as the host nation for this historic 10th anniversary edition. With its stable economy, investment-friendly policies, and growing role as a regional hub for green hydrogen, mining, logistics, and tourism, Namibia stands as a gateway for cross border trade and innovation in Southern Africa. LWBDC invites Namibian corporations, government agencies, MSMEs, and international partners to participate in this landmark summit. Corporate packages include sponsorship opportunities, exhibition stalls, speaking slots, branding, and VIP networking access”, LWBDC stated.
This year’s global summit, themed “Eliminating Intra-African Trade Barriers: Strengthening Policy Reforms & Strategic Execution Models for Africa’s Economic Growth”, is anticipated to convene over 250 international business leaders, policymakers, investors, and entrepreneurs from more than 65 countries across Africa, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas.
Organisers added that the summit will combine keynote sessions, panel discussions, business pitches, and networking forums designed to foster cross-border trade, investment opportunities, and strategic partnerships.
“A highlight of the program will be the International Honours Awards, which will recognise the Top 50 emerging businesses in Africa, celebrating excellence and innovation across industries such as infrastructure, healthcare, technology, mining, renewable energy, agriculture, and more,” the centre stated.
