The Oshana Regional Nanso branch, in collaboration with the Miss Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair 2025, Lisa Nekanda, and the Unam Hifikepunye Pohamba SRC for Community Development and Gender Affairs, Aletta Nepembe, hosted a hygiene and empowerment campaign at Nengushe Secondary School on Thursday.

The campaign aimed to promote health, hygiene, and education among learners while encouraging them to stay dedicated to their studies.

As part of the initiative, more than 100 sanitary pads were donated to the school to promote menstrual health and ensure all learners have equal access to education

“We believe education is every learner’s right, and no one should be left behind because of a lack of basic needs,” Nekanda said.

The team delivered motivational talks focusing on mental health, self-confidence, and academic discipline.

Learners were encouraged to focus on their education, take care of their well-being, and believe in their abilities as they prepare for exams.

The event also emphasised learners’ empowerment and the importance of creating a supportive environment for both girls and boys to succeed. This initiative aligns with Nanso’s goal of removing barriers to education and promoting equal learning opportunities for all Namibian students.

Nengushe Secondary School students and teachers expressed their gratitude for the team’s visit, noting that such campaigns help inspire positive change and raise awareness on important issues affecting young people.
