The Namibian Athletes Commission (NAC) has announced the “Beyond the Game: Youth Sport and Integrity Forum”, set to take place on 22 November at the FNB Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek.
The two-day event aims to empower young athletes, coaches and sports leaders with essential knowledge on integrity, anti-doping, mental health, and athlete empowerment.
Running from 08h30 to 17h15 on the opening day, the forum will feature interactive sessions under key themes such as the Code of Conduct in Sport, where updated Namibia National Olympic Committee guidelines and the athlete’s role in promoting integrity will be discussed.
Other sessions will cover Competition Manipulation Prevention, featuring case studies from Southern Africa, as well as Safe Sport and Safeguarding, which will highlight strategies for creating safe sporting environments for all participants.
Participants will also gain insights into anti-doping education, including the latest World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) protocols and tools such as the Athlete Central App. A special segment on Sport Performance Psychology and Mental Health will offer practical techniques for handling pressure, building resilience, and maintaining balance.
The day will conclude with an ANOCA 4th African Youth Games Angola 2025 Meet and Greet, where participating athletes and team managers will receive vital information ahead of next year’s continental youth event.
The forum continues on 23 November with a fun and engaging padel session at LivPadel Windhoek, designed to encourage physical activity and team building.
The event will wrap up with closing remarks and the distribution of electronic participation certificates.
Sessions will be led by members of the Namibia National Olympic Committee Executive Board, performance coaches, and anti-doping experts, all working to equip young athletes to compete with integrity and uphold fairness in sport.
