OSHAKATI – Two male suspects have been arrested in connection with an alleged housebreaking incident which happened shortly after Christmas last year, at the residence of Oshakati mayor Leonard Hango.

In an update on Sunday, the Namibian Police in the Oshana region said the duo was arrested by the serious crime detectives who travelled to the Onghumbula area on Sunday, where they arrested one suspect at around 11h40.

The second suspect was also arrested on Sunday at Okaandje village in Ongwediva, where the police recovered a 9mm CZ pistol, it said.
Other additional items recovered include one pair of Bova safety boots, one pair of Converse All-Star sneakers, and a Samsung Galaxy Note Lite. Police investigations continue.
