The Namibia Premier Football League clash between Khomas NamPol FC and Tigers FC on Friday, which ended in a 1-0 defeat for the police side, has resulted in the suspension of head coach Fortune Eichab.
When asked about the reasons behind his suspension, Eichab said the club alleged that he deliberately gave away points. However, he questioned the basis of the accusation and said no timeframe was provided for the suspension, pending the outcome of an investigation. “I asked them how one can give away points when our goalkeeper saved a penalty and we were also awarded a penalty which we missed. I didn’t get any answer,” he said. Elsewhere in the Namibia Premier Football League fixtures, FC Ongos defeated Life Fighters 2-0, while Julinho Athletic secured a narrow 1-0 win over Chula Chula FC. African Stars FC and Young African FC played to a 1-1 draw, while Blue Waters FC and Bucks Buccaneers also shared the spoils in a 1-1 stalemate. In other matches, UNAM FC beat Mighty Gunners 2-1, KK Palace FC recorded a convincing 3-0 win over Rundu Chiefs, while Okahandja United edged Eleven Arrows FC 2-1.
