Windhoek
The 2016 season of the NFA Galz & Goals Leagues in Windhoek will today come to a conclusion at the Namibia Football Association (NFA) Technical Centre in Katutura, with about 55 teams from all over Windhoek taking part in the Under-13, Under-15 and Under-17 leagues season finale.
The games will be played at the Technical Centre in the Spar-funded girls’ football leagues, with great action expected from the teams, while great entertainment will also be part of the day’s programme.
“We’re very pleased with the participation of schools and football clubs in the League this year and the level of football displayed. The teams come from all corners of Windhoek to play football, learn life skills and grow as players and responsible citizens.
“We’re hopeful that the leagues will continue to grow nationally and we, therefore, commend our corporate partner Spar Namibia that continuously helps us take the game to the girls,” says the National Manager of NFA Galz & Goals, Jackie Gertze.
She welcomes everyone to support the girls at the league games and also to come witness the prize-giving ceremony. Van Rhyn Primary School is leading the Under-13 league; Pumpkins are ahead in the Under-15 section, while Moses van der Byl top the Under-17 league.
In 2015, Herman Gemeiner Primary School won the Under-13 section, while Pumpkins took the Under-15 honours and Swallows were the Under-17 champions.
