Namibian reigning football champions Tigers have a psychological advantage going into Saturday’s much-anticipated Standard Bank Super Cup final against African Stars, at the Sam Nujoma Stadium at 15h00.

The Standard Bank Super Cup awareness campaign made a turn at Football House over the weekend, which saw local fans meeting and greeting players from the two teams, as well as winning tickets to the game.

Tigers’ veteran coach Brain Isaacs reckons his side holds the advantage, having won the last encounter between the two sides during the Dr Hage Geingob Cup finals last month.

“We’re fortunate enough to have played and beat them in our last encounter during the Dr Hage Geingob Cup and we have the edge in terms of psychological readiness. But there will be no love lost when we meet on Saturday, because Stars are an equally determined side and are the Super Cup defending champions. So, it will be a tracking game and it is the biggest game for us this year, as we’ve never won the Super Cup and lost narrowly last year to Stars.”

Isaacs adds that his side is preparing hard for the game and with the Namibia Premier League (NPL) season still to be decided, he plans to demonstrate all their pre-season preparation in Saturday’s match.

Tickets for the match are available at all Computicket outlets for N$30 each.
