Former Brave Warriors midfield maestro Lolo Goraseb was on Saturday re-elected as president of the Namibia Football Players Union (NAFPU) during the union’s 2nd Ordinary Congress held in the capital.
With his re-election, Goraseb – a co-founder of NAFPU – will head the union for another four years along with other newly elected board members, which include Brave Gladiators (national women football team) skipper Mammy Kasaona, who is the new first vice-president and Brave Warriors captain Stigga Ketjijere as second vice president.
Former Black Africa midfielder Brian Bantam was elected as the new treasurer, while the congress also endorsed the extension of the contract of NAFPU secretary-general Olsen Kahiriri, who only had a year-and-a half left on his contract. Kahiriri will now serve four years, alongside the new leadership. Additional new members are Elina Uulumbu and Bradley Wermann.
