Having easily walloped Seychelles 4-1 on Wednesday, Namibia’s U/17 side will be expected to carry through the same determination and tenacity when they face Zambia in today’s semifinals of the ongoing 2016 Cosafa Under-17 Championships.

Namibia defeated Seychelles 4-1 to secure second spot in Group-A behind leaders South Africa, who defeated Mauritius 2-0 also on Wednesday, for both teams to book places in today’s semifinals where they join Zambia and Malawi.

The Namibian youngsters are on the verge of history and all they need today is a victory over the equally dangerous Zambians in order to reach the final. It will however not be an easy task for Namibia as they will face a team that has scored a total of 10 goals and not conceded a single goal since the tournament started.

But the boys from the Land of the Brave have in their last few matches proven to be worthy competitors and should be able to give Zambia a decent run for their money.

Namibia’s Abram Tjahikika currently tops the tournament’s goal-scorer charts with four goals, one ahead of Peter Banda from Malawi and Nicholas Mulilo of Zambia, and he will today be expected to pick up where he left off and hopefully steer Namibia into the final.
The South Africans will face Group-B runners-up Malawi in the other semifinal clash and both these matches will be played at the Stade St Francois Xavier in Port Louis, Mauritius.

Like Zambia, South Africa is yet to concede a goal in the competition and have so far scored seven.
