In an effort to create more transparency with regard to the often misunderstood criteria when it comes to measuring athletes’ achievements, the National Sports Commission (NSC) has introduced a new module.
The NSC new board of commissioners has mandated the incumbent five-member awards committee to invite and call for an open invitation for the expression of interest from individuals wishing to serve on the panel of judges for the next three years.
This call will be advertised in the print media in due course while the current members of the panel of judges are also encouraged to apply should they have any interest to continue serving as judges.
In the meantime, the NSC expressed its appreciation towards the judges for carrying out their designated duties with integrity and without fear or favour over the last three years.
The current panel of judges comprising of chairperson Talitha Jario, Lesley Tjiueza (V/C), Monica Bohm (formerly Dahl), Carlos Kambaekwa and Patrick Haingura will be obliged to execute an official handover to the new panel of judges committee once it has been endorsed by the commissioners.
