FNB Namibia has come to the rescue of Netball Namibia with a sponsorship of N$29 900 to help the cash-strapped netball’s mother body to conduct a coaching and facilitation workshop.
“Netball Namibia has been supported by us regularly over the past years and we are pleased to see the sport growing. Netball is a fun sport that promotes agility, quick thinking and teamwork,” said FNB CSI Manager Revonia Kahivere.
Lydia Mutenda, President of Netball Namibia applauded FNB Namibia for the generous sponsorship.
“Netball Namibia has been struggling because of a lack of qualified coaches and we believe we need to train our local coaches on levels one and two as well as on the facilitator level if we are to witness an even greater improvement in our teams, especially the national team”.
The former national team player added that trained coaches would in turn be responsible to train other coaches across the country and by doing so, would be in a position to spread the training programme much further.
“Thank you FNB. We hope to prove to you that your sponsorship was a worthwhile investment in the sport of Netball in Namibia,” said Mutenda.
