The head of marketing and economics at the Eenhana Town Council Muandingi Ndawedwa says the council plans to host its annual business expo at the N$70 million centre that is still under construction.

Although construction work is still at the initial stage, Ndawedwa said the council plans to have ablution facilities as well as two halls in place soon to accommodate close to 170 corporate exhibitors.

“Construction of the halls is already in progress because our intention is to host our expo at the centre,” stated Ndawedwa.
According to Ndawedwa the council had to skip phase two, which entails the construction of a bigger exhibition hall, because of a lack of funds and instead resorted to building two smaller exhibition halls.

The construction of the smaller exhibition halls will cost council only N$7 million as compared to N$18 million which is needed to build the bigger exhibition halls.

“The main exhibition hall is still on hold because there are no funds,” said Ndawedwa.
Ndawedwa says the space at the youth centre where the expo was held in the past years is not enough to accommodate all the exhibitors, hence the council was compelled to find much bigger space.

Ndawedwa said the youth centre would in the long run not be able to accommodate the huge number of exhibitors, which is always on the increase.

Last year the Eenhana Expo attracted 450 exhibitors.
The centre will constitute a conference hall, exhibition hall, shopping centre and offices, among others. The biggest hall at the centre will have a capacity of 1 000 people.

Two hotels are also expected to be built next to the centre to accommodate those who daily make use of the facility.
