It is often said, and rightly so, that happiness is the most indefinable and evasive thing of all, indeed something many fail to comprehend.
When one thinks of happiness, the first thing that comes to mind is having money, money to buy a beautiful house, car and clothes and also as many possessions as we could possible want. But the actual fact is, yes, money contributes to comfort and easy living but happiness does not lie in money.
Happiness is a definitely a choice and a decision only you can make for yourself. In life, we are handed all sorts of nerve-wracking trials, and we have the choice to either rise to meet those challenges with a smile and determination or let them get us down.
It’s true that there are times when some circumstances that we go through on a daily basis can astonish us and make us feel like we are not worth it or we can’t be happy but the best part of everything is that we have the power to change those circumstances or view things positively.
It is supposed that the secret of happiness possibly lies in wanting the right things first, in working hard, in giving more than in receiving, so that eventually, we are able to achieve it. But how will that happen if you choose to be fuming over everything.
No one is responsible for your feelings except for YOU. You can choose to be happy or to be angry or sad. I know it’s not easy to see the good in everything but once again it’s 100% your choice to be happy.
If you are not happy with where you are today, you only got yourself to blame. People who are happy with where they are today and perceive life in a positive way have put themselves in that position because anything other than happiness just isn’t acceptable to them.
They made sacrifices and put effort in what they do to reach a certain level of happiness they were pushing for.
Some people like free stuff, especially when they’re told they’re entitled to it but where does that take you? We are in a stable country filled with so many opportunities but some people are just too angry, angry at life, how things are going in their lives and blaming government for everything that goes wrong.
Excuses are made to defend being miserable. You need to push all self-doubt out of your mind, don’t wait for things to happen, don’t wait for people to do things for you and don’t hope luck will save you. There is no such thing as luck and after all God helps those who help themselves – you got to meet half way.
If you are hopeless, you can either whine about it or hope it changes, or you can stand up and make a change.
Obviously happiness will not happen overnight; it requires effort regardless of how difficult it may appear and if you hope to reach a point in your life where you are happy, start now because it’s all up to you. Don’t let your happiness depend on your circumstances; let it depend on an unchanging God.
