The driver who shot dead a 42-year-old Finnish man after the Finn bumped his car early on Sunday morning has not yet been arrested, police spokesman Inspector Slogan Matheus from the Police Public Relations Division informed New Era yesterday.

Police investigators collected nine spent cartridges at the crime scene.

The shooting took place at Joker’s bar in Bell Street in the Southern Industrial Area, at around 00h30 on Sunday. The victim, identified as Ronni Marco Kristian Uolevi, was declared dead at the scene.

Yesterday Matheus said: “Up to now nobody is arrested but we have positive leads.”

Matheus refused to divulge further information.

When asked if the police got any leads from closed-circuit television cameras (CCTV) around town, he replied: “That is part of the investigations.”

He also denied claims that a suspect was arrested after a photograph of a handcuffed man circulated on social media.
On Sunday at the regular media briefing Matheus said: “It is alleged that the deceased was driving a Land Cruiser and bumped another vehicle – a white Volkswagen Polo sedan – from behind. The driver of the Polo sedan jumped out of his vehicle and drew his firearm, a pistol. He shot randomly at the deceased’s vehicle and then drove away.”
