Two men being sought by the police, in connection with the murder of two two brothers in Rehoboth in 2010, are still on the loose.
The two, Johannes Mwoongela, 23, and Silas Hawala, 37, did not show up in the High Court on Friday.
They together with Taapopi Thobias, 23, Daniel Matheus, 29, and Elias Nghikufwasha, 30, face two counts of murder.
The indictment states the five stabbed and killed brothers Petrus and Phillipus Kinda on February 27, 2010 in Rehoboth.
According to the summary of substantial facts, Markus Kinda – who is a brother of the deceased – during the early hours of the fateful day asked Hawala about money he owed him.
In response Hawala told Markus he does not speak to Damaras and left.
Hawala allegedly returned with a group of men, including all the accused, who were armed with sharp objects, and started to chase the deceased and Markus.
Both deceased were reportedly stabbed in the neck and head by all the accused and died as a result of the stab wounds, the indictment states. The State contends all five accused acted with common purpose.
All the accused were granted bail of N$1 000, but Mwoongela and Hawala have since vanished into thin air and are nowhere to be found.
State Advocate Ethel Ndlovu informed Judge Nate Ndauendapo on Friday that the State intends to continue with the matter with the three accused who were present. The matter will proceed on June 21 to July 1 2016 for trial. The bail of the three men was extended, while a warrant of arrest was issued for Mwoongela and Hawala.
