Two suspects have been charged for the rape on Saturday of a 15-year-old girl at Kasote village.
The victim, who was on her way from buying fish, was reportedly raped at around 18h00 by two young men.
The two are said to have chased down the victim from the gravel road where she was sent to buy fish.
“They caught her and pulled her into nearby bushes, undressed her and raped her,” said Detective Chief Inspector Chrispin Mubebo of the police in Kavango East.
“The minor was taken to the Rundu state hospital for a rape kit examination,” Mubebo said.
The two suspects were arrested at Kasote village, where they both live.
They were expected to appear in the Rundu Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
