WINDHOEK-The spanking new documentary of the San, Once we were Hunters by Namibian producer and film, Director Vickson Hangula, has hit the market.
The documentary portrays a story of the struggle and survival of the San, said to be the first people to walk these lands whose territory spans most areas of present day from Namibia, Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Angola, Mozambique, Lesotho and Swaziland. The original inhabitants (San) of the land have for centuries lived freely as hunter-gatherer across the plains of Southern Africa. Due to technological development of nowadays, the indisputably indigenes of this land have since been rounded up to live a contained existence in the so called conservancies. Once we were Hunters is, however, the story of life in the conservancy, told from the perspective of one of those living this very existence, in present day of Namibia.
