Home Time Out Three more ladies face BBA house eviction with five  already out

WINDHOEK– With five ladies already out of Big Brother Hotshots house after she first two evictions, three more are in danger of leaving this coming Sunday after this week’s nominations.

The three are Ellah (Uganda), Laveda (Tanzania) and M’am Bea (Ghana).  The other four nominees, men, are Alusa (Kenya), JJ (Zimbabwe), Macky2 (Zambia) and Namibian representative Permithias (Namibia). With ‘Team B’ immune from nomination after their Extravaganza win – thanks to their Bollywood skills – the pressure was on for the other half of the house. Once all the housemates had their say, Laveda led the nominations with 11 nods, followed by Nhlanhla (8); Permithias (7); JJ (4) and M’am Bea, Ellah and Alusa with three each. Laveda drew the anger of her fellow housemates because they generally feel that she’s inconsiderate and conniving, with Sheillah nominating her after an  argument the two had earlier in the week. Nhlanhla’s ‘food smuggling’ seemed to be a major reason behind his nominations while Permithias found himself in the firing line because some housemates felt he didn’t give his all in the Extravaganza task, while others think he’s too much of a ‘player’.

After Big Brother revealed the nomination results to the housemates on Monday evening, Nhlanhla was given the chance to influence proceedings by adding another housemate to the mix. Big Brother pressed him for an immediate answer – his instant choice being Macky2.

Voting opened immediately after that decision, and runs until  Sunday morning. The more you vote for your favourite housemate who has been nominated for eviction, the better their chance of staying in the house and being named as the winner. Meaning the housemates who have been nominated for eviction but who receive most public votes are the most popular among Africa and would thus remain in the house.

Following the first departure of Resa and Mira two weeks ago, three more woman have been ejected from Big Brother Africa Hotshots house during last Sunday’s live show while no man has so far been evicted. The three, Lilian (Nigeria), Esther (Uganda) and Sabina (Kenya) were sent home after gathering the fewest votes of the nine nominees from Africa during the course of the week. Time Out’s Selma Neshiko spoke to the three evictees about their experiences in the house. Sabina who hoped to find love in the house believed she was a strong contestant and did not expect to leave. “I’m one of the strongest contestants in the house but when my name was announced I thought it was not real. I got exposure but I can also not do anything about the eviction. I’ll rather move on and use that to grow in my career,” she says.

Asked about her relationship with Permithias, Sabina laughed it off saying “no, I’m older than him. I relate to him, I saw that hustle in him which I went through myself but let me not say anything now”.  She adds that with some strong housemates evicted, including herself, she cannot bet on who will take the money. “It can be Permithias or anyone. I can’t really say right now because I don’t know who Africa wants but whoever wins good luck.”

Nigerian twerk queen, Lillian, who was rather popular in and out of the house for her divisive twerking, says her eviction was surprising but this was a platform and she will be focusing on her career now. “I didn’t have a strategy, I was just being myself, I don’t pretend. I’m happy because this was the best two weeks of my life. I’ll be focusing on my acting now. Finish my production that I was busy with before I entered the house,” she says hoping her countryman, Tayo, wins the game.

Lively Esther from Uganda who promised to be one of the strongest in the house and happened to be one of the loudest people in the house, says one of the challenges of being a housemate is dealing with annoying people. “I don’t like annoying people and some people in the house were just annoying and dealing with them is a problem,” she says. According to Esther, one cannot determine the winner at the moment. “People outside the house see things differently, they don’t understand what happens inside but in the end Africa has tits own choice., says she. ” The trio will surely be missed on the show.
