WINDHOEK– The second knockout stage of the Joyful Sounds Choir Competition takes place this Sunday at the National Theatre of Namibia (NTN).

This pit the Salvation Choir, Soli Deo Gloria Choir and the Christian Assemblies against one another. The grand finale is on November 21. The Poly Choir is already through to the grand finale after winning the first knockout stage. The choir competed with the Massive Choir and the Restoration Ministry International (RMI) last Sunday at the NTN. They came first with the Massive Choir second and RMI third. The judges were of the opinion that the Poly Choir were more energetic showing that they are praising God, and happily so.  The Choir is being conducted by Michael Kisting. The Massive Choir were lead by Ivan Tjitjo.

Tickets are available for N$60 from computicket outlet and at the NTN. Doors open at six O’clock (18H00) and the show starts at seven O’clock (19H00). The Joyful Sounds Choir Competition is sponsored by Vigo and FNB Foundation. It is the first of its kind that challenges Namibian Choirs both in terms of their choral prowess and their ability to reinforce choral work with a tight musical band or at least, through inclusion of harmonic and non-harmonic musical instruments. The competition is also the first of its kind in Namibia that pitting popular music with Gospel music in a joint competition for the title of the ‘Last Choir Singing’. This competition has been running over a period of three months with knock-out rounds which started last Sunday.
