Song Night gets the audience busy

Home Time Out Song Night gets the audience busy

WINDHOEK-The mood at song night was very stress-free and most folks were captivated by the beautiful voice ranges of the performers.

Anastasia Linus, also known as Ann, appeared to be very shy but put the show in full swing when she presented a moving and attention-grabbing performance when she delivered her version of Moment like this by Leona Lewis and Broken hearted girl by Beyoncé with her profound voice.  Lize Elhers, a seasoned  regular on the Song Night stage , acted  as a back up singer for some of the artists who performed. Sean Kamati gave a moving performance with a confident rendition of Stay with me by Sam Smith easily endearing himself to the audience telling by the applause that greeted his performance.

Shande delivered a devoted version of Knocking on heavens door,  a classic by Bob Dyaln, which seemed to invoke great memories for the audience as they joined in unison.  The bubbly Sophia poured out her heart with her own adaptation of Warwick Avenue, a song by Duffy. She also performed a timeless, soulful heart break song titled I’d rather go blind by Etta Jones at the backdrop of cheers from the audience that seemed to connect with the words in the song.  Michael, a former back up singer for Lize Elhers performed his own song entitled  I’m not pretending anymore, a song he wrote for people who are tired of being in a “fake relationship”.  It is the intended to help them break free and move on, a performance that proved equally popular  with the audience.  The show ended with a bang when Christopher performed a song in the one of the South African vernacular, enticed with his vibrant and energetic performance, to the dancing floor.  The turnout was as much elating as the performances, providing the Song Night initiative, intended to get Namibian aspiring artists an identity locally, and hopefully internationally, the necessary support.  Song Night takes place every last Wednesday of the month to create a self-expression platform for both established and upcoming artists.
