WINDHOEK – With only two tourneys left before the season’s finale, the Pro Tennis Academy (PTA) hosted its 6th tourney of the PTA Tennis Series at the Windhoek High School (WHS) courts in the capital last weekend.

In the Mini category Van der Merwe Tromp recorded his first win of the season but the new kid on the block has faced stern competition and despite playing in unfamiliar territory, he kept his cool to squeeze past the remaining players en route to the gold medal – leaving Zeta Kaises and Jamilla Hungamo adrift in 2nd and 3rd places respectively.

Delicia Dirkse and Mike Kambonde continued their recent run of good form in the Beginners class. The pair ended the event level on points to share first place.

But with Kambonde improving tremendously and Faith Kahuure hot on the heels of the winning pair, it is everybody’s guess as to who will come out top at the end of the season. Megano Sheya finished third..

More excitement was witnessed in the Intermediate category where the fast improving Loging Goraseb proved to be the man of the day taking top honours, leaving Henry de Klerk and Brandon Maasdorp trailing in 2nd and 3rd place.
