WINDHOEK- Local politician, Alex Kamwi, says the recent collapse of a church building in Nigeria has strengthened his faith in God now more than ever.
He is associated with the church belonging to Nigerian spiritual healer TB Joshua and confirmed he is among Namibians who organise spiritual healing trips to Nigeria.
Kamwi, president of the largely invisible Caprivi African National Union (CANU), said he is an associate of the controversial Nigerian preacher and, as part of that job, helps widows and orphans in Namibia.
“Our faith has been increased and, now more than ever, many people want to go to Nigeria,’’ Kamwi told New Era this week.
According to Kamwi, the collapse of the church building should not deter people from going to the “Man of God” for healing.
But, he said, it means only the chosen people shall be able to go, those with faith that cannot fear any discouragement. The collapse of the church building should not be blamed on the ‘Man of God’, he said, adding,
“The man of God prophesied about the dark cloud that was on Nigeria but God did not reveal to him it was his church that will collapse.”
Kamwi challenged anyone who wants to know why the building collapsed to take the question “directly to God because the Man of God also don’t have the answer, only God does”.
Citing biblical scripture in 1 John 2:9 that says, “Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates his brother is still in the darkness”, Kamwi added: “People should not judge the Man of God, everyone that judge him is in the dark.”
Kamwi commented further that the building of Prophet TB Joshua was not the first to collapse and questioned why it should be a topic of discussion now.
Other TB Joshua partners in Namibia, Kamwi said, are praying for the families of those who were involved in the collapse.
Meanwhile, Kamwi cautioned people to be careful what they say towards the Man of God, because they are not saying it against him but against the Holy Spirit and God will deal with them his own way. “He that despises, despises not man but God,’’ said Kamwi.
TB Joshua warned that he will pray for whatever people think of him to go back to them, said Kamwi.
