WINDHOEK – The NAU management under leadership of the president, Derek Wright will visit South Africa this week in order to attend the annual Outlook Conference which will be held on Tuesday, September 30.

As usual other appointments will also be attended to during the visit. On Monday afternoon, September 29 a meeting was held with the Red Meat Industry Forum during which inter alia the export of livestock to South Africa was discussed. The NAU management got the opportunity to clear certain aspects with regard to animal health of Namibia which is a concern for South Africa.

A visit to the office of AgriSA will be done on Wednesday, October 1 during which usually matters of mutual concern are discussed. Furthermore Prof Johan Kirsten, the Dean of the Faculty Agricultural Economy of the Pretoria University will be visited in preparation of his participation in the Namibian Outlook Conference which will be held on October 8 in Windhoek. Prof Kirsten will share the platform with inter alia the keynote speaker, Minister of Trade and Industry Calle Schlettwein and will talk mainly about the support of intensive industries in Namibia.
