WINDHOEK- Namibian designer Taimi Sakeus has been crowned as the top designer of Africa’s Finest Culture and Fashion Show (AFCFS) at the Hilton Hotel in the capital recently.
Sean Cloete and Agnes Izaaks both came in the second place, Sharon Stone, a Namibian designer currently based in South Africa came in the third place while Immanuel Garoeb came in the fourth place. According to the founder of AFCFS, Eva Miarka, it was not easy to choose the best designer since all the designers had good collections. “We decided to have one category and to choose only one winner which is the top winner and we gave her N$ 5000 cash. The rest did not win anything only their position. We looked at the inspiration of the collections, we looked at the choices of colours and fabrics, fitting, finishing and stitching of the garments,” says Miarka.
She adds that AFCFS Season 3 will be held in the United Kingdom (UK) at the end of next February during The London Fashion week. “We invited all our previous designers to participate and also if there’s anyone who want to join us to contact us via our Facebook Fan Page,” she concludes.
