NKURENKURU – The Swapo Party over the weekend launched its mobilisation campaign that will enable the party to start mobilising voters in Kavango West for the upcoming elections.
The campaign was launched by the Deputy Prime Minister, Marco Hausiku, who is the chairperson of the Swapo Party’s national leaders who are assigned to both Kavango West and East regions.
The launch on Sunday was attended by regional leaders and party members.
Speaking at the launch, Hausiku said, “Today is the day to remind ourselves that we have a big responsibility ahead of us. Swapo should now start to mobilise people starting from their homes, work, villages, towns as well as all over the region.”
Hausiku also took the chance to remind citizens to register to vote, he said that few people have registered to vote compared to the past, he thus urged all to spread the word that as Namibians they should register in order to participate.
“By voting you get to decide who is going to be in parliament, your voice will be heard. If you didn’t yet register to vote, your last chance will be in September during supplementary registration,” said Hausiku.
He also launched the campaign in Kavango West earlier this month at Tuhingireni suburb in Rundu.
