OKAHANDJA  – The Okahandja Shopping Mall under construction near the Okahandja highway is almost complete and will open the end of this month.

According to Lelanie Basson, the communications partner for the Okahandja Shopping Mall, the complex will host 108 retail outlets and is expected to create direct and indirect employment for over 800 Namibians.

“The new development will most certainly change the retail landscape in the garden town forever,” she said, adding that construction was running at full speed and on schedule, making it one of the largest private investments in Okahandja.

Basson said the opening of outlets has been divided into three phases, with eleven stores scheduled to open at the end of April in the first phase.

Thereafter, a set of shops will open on a weekly basis until the end of May 2014, while the last phase is expected to be complete by the end of September.

The developers of the new mall are Namib Housing, a subsidiary of Germou Holdings.
