WINDHOEK – About 100 U/18 junior tennis players from South Africa, Germany, Great Britain, India and Zimbabwe have registered to play in two important international U/18 ITF tournaments in Windhoek, starting next week.
The first ITF tournament already started last Sunday in Windhoek and the final matches in the boys and girl divisions are scheduled for this coming Saturday. The second ITF Grade 4 Namibia Open Junior tournament will be played the following week with the final matches scheduled for the weekend of May 17.
The second leg of the circuit will be hosted by the Namibian Tennis Association (NTA) with 90% of the same players competing from the 11th to the 17th of May.
NTA development players will support the tournament as ball boys and ball girls, with the aim of learning and improving their own game by watching these matches.
