WINDHOEK – Bank Windhoek and the Namibian Bass Angling Association applauded Alec Williams on winning the Angler of the Year trophy of the 2013 season.
The most prolific Angler of the Year is determined by points gained in the eight national tournaments sponsored by Bank Windhoek, with the six best scores added together to determine the top angler for a particular season. Williams, who was sponsored by Satib Insurance won three of the six tourneys last year after a closely contested battle against compatriot Max Pieper. With the last competition of the year being the deciding factor, Williams was in top shape as he went on to beat Pieper by only two points last season. Pieper has won the title for the last two years in succession.
The top five final standings are:
1 Alec Williams 590 points
2 Max Pieper 588 points
3 Richard Grant 575 points
4 Duan Kotze 568 points
5 Wilmar Fourie 567 points.
