WINDHOEK– Designers and models have been awarded at the Designer Fashion Show, now in its third season, hosted last Saturday at the Protea Hotel Thuringerhof.
Metha Uushona of Proud Clothing Line has been awarded as the Best Seasoned Designer and Hanna Nangula of H Couture Designs as a Best New Comer Designer. Justus Jost was awarded judged the Best Male Model while Esther Ashipale the Best Female Model. Hendrina Shikalepo, the brains behind Leni Clothing Line, and organiser of the Designer Fashion Show, says best designers were given trophies while best models walk away with medals. “Designer Fashion Show is organised to provide a platform to creative designers, to display their art and to give an equal opportunity to models to showcases their talent and to boost their confidence,” she says.
Keynote speaker, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey Deniz Cakar, said Namibia is a very beautiful country with beautiful people and different talents. She encouraged quests to love one another and stay together to stop and fight the current so-called passion killings in Namibia.
However, fashion devotees were taken on a treat when the Ellys Investment Brand showcased its designs. With its exclusive range of women’s wear, the collection where shining like diamond with beautiful colours.
Next on the catwalk were the H-Couture outfits which left the viewers muted. Leni Clothing Line displayed a combination of luxury and wearability, creating thus the right noise in town. The garments were skilful usage of exceptional fabrics. Right from bridal wear, or cocktail dresses, her diverse dressing style has become a hit.
Both designers wowed the stylish crowd with their individual contrasting design styles.
Proud Clothing Line in whoe new looks designs embodied passion, attraction and innocence, was stunning in its muted elegance. The simple yet clever colour coordination made the outfits a feast for the eyes.
M-Creation showcased ready to wear men’s wear for every occasion the designs of which included shorts and trousers with suits.
Morango Crew, FTS Dancing Group, Komesho and Young T kept the crowd going with their music performances.
