WINDHOEK– The Safari Hotel and Convention Centre’s Kuiseb 1 Hall was the centre of an international partnership agreement on Saturday which led to the official launch of the Hollywood Hills Records LLC, based in the United States of America and the establishment and launch of its African counterpart, the Hollywood Hills Records (HHR)Africa, to be based in Windhoek.
The event which was witnessed by the City of Windhoek Mayor, Agnes Kafula, and Roland Enke, a Managing Member of Galaxi Productions, one of the companies behind the venture, as well as world renown peace singer, Wolfgang von Hildebrandt, was described by the Executive Director of Hollywood Hills Records Africa, Isaac Kaulinge, “as the day the Lord has made, sola gratia,” hence the need to rejoice in it. To pave the way for this historic launch Hildebrandt shared the stage in the National Theatre of Namibia (NTN) last December in a concert titled “Wolfgang Hildebrandt In Concert with Soli Deo Gloria.” And that is all the more reason to rejoice as through the partnership this choir of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Republic of Namibia Macedonia’s Congregation would be able to do some recordings of their songs. “HHR will professionally usher in and career-guide these and many other youthful and talented Namibian artists, into the lime-light of the highly competitive international music market,” affirms Kaulinge.
HHR is to specifically cater for artists in Namibia, the Southern African Development Community (SADC), African Union and the entire African continent. HHR is the only trade marked world peace record label but invites any genre’s music or artists but with the vision and mission to “set alight which brightly illuminates Peace, Hope and Mutual Toslerance among the World Community of Nations”. HHR, LLC, that is based in Los Angeles in the United States of America (USA) is an independent record label that has achieved accolades for its significant world-wide distribution of qualitative and quantitative music. Its music is digitally available across the globe.
Together with Kaulinge as Executive Director, Hildrebrandt and Enke are the other two of three directors of HHR Africa. The company has as its logo a trumpeting elephant. Like the last time in December when they stole the show, little and her charges stole the show with a rendition of “We are children” that all time favourite by Quincy Jones and Michael Jackson that is known as “US for Africa”.
