By Frederick Philander WINDHOEK New Era’s sportswriter, Kuvee Kangueehi, on Saturday inadvertently became a victim of the Mariental floods on his way to cover the MTC second round quarter final soccer matches at Keetmanshoop. According to Kangueehi, the company car he was travelling in got stuck in the fast rising floodwater on a side road just outside Mariental, water in the engine. “The car was later towed out of the water and I managed to proceed with my journey to the South until 10 km further on the national road. There, the car developed irreparable engine problems. I was forced to have it towed to the nearest town, Gibeon,” he said. Road access to and from Mariental was until yesterday impossible.
