This invitation was extended by Fousy Kambombo of the National Museum of Namibia. “The museum has received a grant from the American Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation for two projects: one in conservation of archaeological heritage and the other to create awareness about rock art,” Kambombo said in the media release. According to her, the archaeological storage facilities at the National Museum had also been upgraded and improved to accommodate new and oversized materials. “In addition a rock art CDs and posters were developed and printed as educational materials for Namibian schools to inform learners, and through them their parents, about the country’s unique rock art heritage. Schools are requested to contact us to inform the museum if they have the technology to use digital educational materials, or to collect CDs and posters in person during official working hours,” the statement said.
