WINDHOEK – Bank Windhoek recently donated N$60 000 to the Beautiful Kidz Anusa project, to help it realise its goal of becoming self-sustainable and less reliant on donations. The funds will be used to purchase equipment and stock.
Anusa is a school uniform sewing project of Beautiful Kidz, which was established in 2011 to provide training and employment to unemployed women. It produces and sells school wear to various schools in Katutura.
Last year Anusa saw an increase in sales of school uniforms and tracksuits and has also taken up more tenders from schools to produce their school uniforms.
“The organisation is well on its way to becoming self-reliant, although it may still take some time as it is not easy.
We therefore still need support from institutions like Bank Windhoek to reach our goal of not only becoming self-sustainable, but also empowering women through job provision and skills training. Bank Windhoek has been one of our biggest sponsors and we are grateful for their continued support,” said Jennieke Bolier, project manager of Anusa.
“As pointed out in the past, Bank Windhoek’s approach to funding is focused towards forming close working partnerships with the beneficiaries of our Corporate Social Investment Fund. This is to encourage and ensure that each beneficiary becomes sustainable and less dependent on external funding. Bank Windhoek is proud to be associated with the Anusa project, which should be commended for their efforts to achieve their goal of becoming financially independent,” said Riaan van Rooyen, the head of corporate communication and social investment at Bank Windhoek.
