By Frederick Philander WINDHOEK An eight-member Swazi delegation is presently on a weeklong visit in the country to strengthen the existing relations between Namibia and Swaziland youth, as guests of the National Youth Council of Namibia. “The youth in all countries in the world forms the backbone of every society to build the spirit of good neighbourly relations between countries and has been seen as the foundation of a stable and peaceful generation,” said host Neville Andre, Secretary General of Nanso yesterday. According to him, both youth councils of Namibia and Swaziland have entered a new chapter to improve relations at their level. “Both sides have realised the importance of networking and partnerships for the common cause. That is why the two parties have agreed to enter into an agreement of understanding that will consolidate and solidify cooperation in various fields ranging from HIV/AIDS, employment creation and other social issues related to the youth in both countries,” said Andre. The delegation had in-depth talks with Prime Minister Nahas Angula, as well as with John Mutorwa, Minister of Youth, National Service, Sport and Culture. Last night, a combined symposium between the two groups was held at the restaurant at the National Assembly. “This morning a formal agreement of cooperation between our two youth councils will be signed before the delegation departs for Walvis Bay to meet with the governor of the Erongo Region and the coastal youth leadership. The new mayor of Walvis Bay will also host the visitors at a special dinner on Friday before they leave for their home country on Sunday,” said an excited Andre.
