By William Mbangula OSHIKUKU A member of the Namibian Defence Force (NDF) based at Rundu was one of the victims burnt to death in a head-on collision at Oshikuku on Wednesday, July 4. Oshana Crime Investigation Coordinator, Chief Inspector Golden Naanda, said the other victims were Monica Nuusiku Kashile, an employee of the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry and their seven-year-old son, Amoomo Joseph. The gruesome accident took place at around 16h30 close to the bridge at Oshikuku when the driver of a CTM truck was trying to overtake many vehicles but failed to see the oncoming red Mazda Drifter, with registration number N4917RU. The drifter caught fire on impact. The truck, with registration number N9860SH, was driven by Leonard Kiimba, 29. He is now recovering at the Ongwediva Medipark together with his passenger, Victor Lomba. Naanda confirmed that the next of kin were informed and investigations are continuing.
