WINDHOEK – Football enthusiasts across the country will this coming weekend be treated to a real football jamboree when action in the Bidvest Namibia Cup last 32 round of matches takes place in three different towns.

Windhoek, Rundu and Walvis Bay have been chosen as the venues for the coming weekend’s Bidvest Cup action, as teams from all corners of the country take on one another in their ongoing quest to advance to the next stage of the lucrative competition. Starting with Windhoek, the Sam Nujoma Stadium will host eight teams on Saturday and action will kick off at 14h00 when the Hardap Region’s Spiders take on the Otjozondjupa Region’s Tropical Heat and two hours later Bee Bob Brothers (Southern Stream First Division losing finalist) will confront Kunene regional winners Black Africa Warriors. Southern Stream Frist Division winners Citizens will face last year’s losing finalists Mighty Gunners at 18h00, while an all-premiership tie between Civics and Tigers will conclude the weekend’s proceedings.

At the Rundu Sports Stadium, Young Tops of the Kavango regions will take on Khomas regional winners Khomasdal Football Academy at 11h00 to be followed by the Oshana Region’s KK Palace against Premiership outfit Tura Magic in what promises to be a heated affair at 15h00, followed by a clash between United Stars and the ever-improving Touch & Go FC. Action continues on Sunday at the Rundu Sports Stadium, with Orlando Pirates taking on Ohangwena regional winners Eeshoke Chulachula at 11h00 and at 13h00 Rundu Chiefs will take to the field with a crucial tie against the Oshikoto region’s Safile United. At the Coast, action will only get underway on Saturday at the Kuisebmund Stadium in Walvis Bay with the first match starting at 11h00 when the Erongo region’s Blue Birds confront Once Again FC from the Kavango regions and at 13h00 Ramblers will battle it out against Young Stars from the Omusati Region. Also, at 15h00 the Kuisebmund Stadium will witness action between Young Africans from the Omaheke Region pitted against Premiership side Blue Boys and at 17h00 the day’s programme will be concluded with action between North East First Division outfit Julinho Sporting and Blue Waters.

The winners from the thirteen (13) matches will go through to the competition’s Round of 16. The remaining three winners will be confirmed on Saturday, February 22 at the Sam Nujoma Stadium as Black Hawks from the Zambezi Region take on the Karas Region’s Mountain Rangers, with Black Africa facing North East First Division side Cuca Tops and Eleven Arrows battling it out against defending champions African Stars.
