AC Boxing Academy handed over boxing equipment to seven clubs yesterday as part of its Community Clean-Up initiative.

An initiative that aims to empower local sports groups that promote discipline, youth development, and community cleanliness. AC Boxing Academy is moving to a new gym and, as such, has decided to share and hand over its previous gym equipment to other boxing clubs to empower them and ensure they grow together.

The boxing equipment, consisting of heavy and small punching bags, was given to the following boxing academies, with each club receiving two punching bags: John Mbenge Boxing Academy, B-Za7 Boxing Club, After School Boxing Centre, Unam Boxing Club, Golden Boxing Club, Chris Boxing Club, and Grootfontein Boxing Club. According to AC Boxing Academy founder Immanuel Moses, his aim in donating this equipment is to meet the government halfway in terms of sports development, because it is not easy to get sponsors. “Over the years, the AC Boxing Academy has played a significant role in uplifting and empowering people.

Our commitment to community development continues to grow, and we are grateful for the partnerships that make this work possible,” said Moses. Moses further stated that the first major project of the Community Clean-Up initiative was securing a donation to establish a fully equipped school library at Eros Primary School, the second project was securing a donation to renovate the Eros girls’ school hostel in partnership with Footsteps Africa.

Denzel Silvanus, chairperson of the Unam boxing club, expressed his gratitude towards AC Boxing. “This feels like a Christmas gift for our boxing club. It will not only help me as a professional boxer but also help my boxers prepare for the future.

We are hoping to get more people willing to donate equipment to us,” he said.As AC Boxing moves to its new gym, it hopes the facility will serve the national boxing team in preparing for future international tournaments. The gym will also serve as a youth development centre, nurturing the next generation of champions.
