To make the Junior Secondary Certificate (JSC) Accounting the easiest subject to study, Simeon Shilomboleni has written an Accounting Made Easy book for the Grade 9s and 10s learners.

The book is well structured, with step by step examples and explanations, and enough practical exercises to perfect the learners’ understanding and with examination hints and tips.  Shilomboleni says the national JSC Accounting results have been very poor, hence schools need  material that is not only simplified but also learner-centred, stimulating and helping learners develop the passion and love for the Accounting.  “I am a creative writer, with a number of unpublished motivational articles on life.  I decided to integrate this passion with the Accounting knowledge I have with the aim of helping a Namibian child to attain good Accounting results,” explains Shilomboleni who is also a school teacher.
He adds that the book has been developed in line with the current school curriculum. “However, since the basic education curriculum is due to change in 2017, there is a need to update it again to accommodate these changes,” he says.

The book is user friendly and it contains past examination question papers and solutions, which will help learners understand how to approach and answer different questions when asked. “Examples in this book [are] pleasingly easy to understand, with well-illustrated texts in form of diagrams, photographs and sketches,” says Shilomboleni. The book is available at most of bookshops around the country and is already being used in many schools.
