THE Okamatapati footbal stream will start its third division league matches tomorrow at the Okamatapati combined school sports ground in Otjozondjupa region.

Known as Okamatapati Soccer League, the league is under the auspices of the Namibia Football Association’s Okakarara third division football league which comprises four streams.  The other streams are Coblens, Okondjatu and Okakarara town. Wilson Nguvauva, who is the league coordinator, said the league is the feeding pot for upper leagues in the region.

“We created this platform for the youth in the area to display their talent, and also to keep them busy through sports. It is good for the region because we have teams in the upper divisions like Erarai City and premier league newcomers Okakarara Young Warriors which comprised of local talent,” said Nguvauva. He added that player registration will continue until 17, April and urged those looking for teams to register. The league coordinator was also happy with high turnout of the
San community players in different teams.

“This is a good sign, and we will continue empowering, encouraging and motivating them. We want to integrate them so that they cannot feel isolate, and they are very talented,” explained the league coordinator.
