Peter Kazmaier, 63, the man widely regarded as the ‘Father of Agra’ is to retire before the end of the year after a 20-year stint with the company that holds the reputation of being the leading agricultural services provider in Namibia.
Kazmaier, who has been at the helm as chief executive officer of Agra Cooperative Limited, and after the conversion to a public company in 2013 also of Agra Limited, will retire on October 31. Klein joined Agra in October 2003 as general manager: retail and wholesale.
The board of directors of Agra announced Arnold Klein as the new chief executive officer on Tuesday. He will take up the position on November 1.
The board expressed their delight to appoint Klein after a thorough recruitment process and their “confidence that he will, with the great Agra team behind him, continue to lead Agra to new heights, following on the legacy left by Peter Kazmaier.”
