The planned national strike by security guards over minimum wages, which was scheduled for Friday morning, was called off at the last minute on Thursday following negotiations involving the Ministry of Labour.
This came after the Minister of Labour and Social Welfare, Alpheus !Naruseb, settled the dispute following lengthy discussions with the three unions and the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement.
