Agribank Drought Relief

Home Farmers Forum Agribank Drought Relief

Windhoek

The president of the Namibia Agricultural Union (NAU), Ryno van der Merwe, and the Manager of Commodities met with Ambassador Leonard Iipumbu of Agribank last week to discuss, among others, the drought relief products offered by the latter in an effort to mitigate the impact of the drought. These facilities include an interest holiday of one year, ring- fencing of arrears and suspension of penalty interest, production loan facilities and water and infrastructure improvement. A detailed advertisement appears in the November 2015 edition of the Agriforum.

Ambassador Iipumbu encouraged producers to apply for these facilities, but highlighted the importance for applicants to make sure that these applications are filled out correctly and are complete. Applications must also be followed up regularly.
